Support FAQs

How do I close a shape created in the Amfit Editor?
Hold down the left shift key on the keyboard and click the last point desired.

The comments I typed in the Digitizer Control Panel Window did not appear in the foot record. What Happened?
You must enter all comments for a foot BEFORE scanning that foot.

How do I add comments to an existing foot record?
Bring the foot record up in an editor and click on Client Info (top left menu item) and Edit Commentary. Type new comments in the displayed window. Be sure to save the foot record after adding comments.

Can I print out the image of the feet?
Yes. But you must order Pizzaz-Plus for Windows. It is available through computer stores or Amfit. Instructions on installation and use are in the release notes (double click on Release Notes in the Amfit group).

When I try to open a client foot record, I get the message "Raima Data Manager Error...etc."
The Data base is out of sync in some way. First try running Database Doctor (double click on the DataBase Doctor icon in the Amfit Group. This will attempt to fix any out of sync client records. If that does not do it, please email or call Amfit Technical support.

When do I backup my system?
We reccommend a complete system backup every month and a backup of the amfdb.* database every week.

Can I get the latest software? What are my options? What are the costs?
The answer is during the warranty period is yes. Software can be upgraded at no charge. For customers with systems manufactured in the last few years, the software can be upgraded for a nominal fee. For Amfit customers with older (dual insole) style milling machines, the mill needs to come back to the factory for upgrading and the computer must be replaced. Please contact the factory for a quotation.

Do you refurbish machines?
Yes. Please contact Amfit customer service for pricing information.

For systems with external computers, can I upgrade to a faster (486 or Pentium) computer?
The answer is yes and no. The milling machine should be refurbished and the digitizer interface board should be replaced along with an upgrade to the latest version of the Amfit DOS program or, if upgrading, the Amfit for Windows program.

What do I do for a digitizer pin box replacement?
Contact Amfit customer service for current pricing information on our digitizer pin box swap program

How much does it cost for out of warranty customer service?
For now contact Amfit customer service for this information. We plan on adding that information to the website in the next redesign.
